The wait is finally over for the highly anticipated sequel to the revolutionary OnePlus Open from 2023. The Open 2 has a lot to live up to, given the original’s impressive performance and accolades as one of the best foldables of its time.
Thanks to a recent leak, we now have our first look at the OnePlus Open 2. The renders are reportedly based on a “late-stage prototype,” so some minor tweaks are still possible, but nothing major is expected to change.

As we can see, the OnePlus Open 2 has taken a step up in terms of design and features. It’s expected to be larger and thinner than its predecessor, measuring just 10mm thick when folded. It will also boast an IPX8 rating for water resistance, a significant upgrade from the Open’s IPX4 rating for splash resistance.
The Open 2 is rumored to pack a powerful punch with its 8-inch “2K” LTPO OLED folding screen, complete with a 120 Hz refresh rate. When closed, it will have a 6.4-inch cover display. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
Camera-wise, the Open 2 is expected to feature a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide lens, and a 50 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Selfies will be handled by two cameras, one on the inside screen and the other on the cover display, with resolutions of 32 MP and 20 MP, respectively.
The device will be powered by a large 5,900 mAh battery, which will support 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. It will come with Android 15 and OxygenOS 15 out of the box.
In a surprise twist, the OnePlus Open 2 is rumored to be a rebranded Oppo Find N5, which is set to launch in China early next year. If this is indeed the case, we can expect the Open 2 to hit the market in “late Q1,” possibly as early as March. However, this contradicts a recent rumor claiming we wouldn’t see the next OnePlus foldable until the second half of next year.
