Circle to Search Now Available on Nothing Phone Series with Android 15 Update
Following its debut on Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices, Google’s Circle to Search feature is now available on the Nothing Phone series with the latest Android 15 update. The feature, which allows users to search what’s on their display by circling or tapping content, or highlighting text, is rolling out to Nothing Phone (2), Nothing Phone (2a), and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus devices with Android 15 (Nothing OS 3.0).
According to Nothing, the feature is being added after the three devices "passed" additional testing. The Android 15 update, which is now available as a stable build for Phone (2) and Phone (2a), still only has a beta version for Phone (2a) Plus. To access the feature, users will need the specific build numbers for their device: "Pong-V3.0-241207-0124" for Phone (2), "Pacman-V3.0-241210-2057" for Phone (2a), and "PacmanPro-V3.0-241126-1448" for Phone (2a) Plus.
With Circle to Search, users can search for text on their screen by circling or tapping on the content, or highlighting text. To access the feature, users will need to long-press either the home button or the navigation bar, depending on whether they’re using three-button or gesture navigation.
In the future, Nothing claims that "other" Nothing Phone models will support Circle to Search after upgrading to the upcoming NOS 3.0 builds, specifically mentioning the regional Japanese variant of Phone (2a). This implies that the Nothing Phone (1) could also add support for the feature.
The rollout of Circle to Search on the Nothing Phone series marks another step in the company’s efforts to bring the feature to more devices. With the addition of Nothing Phone (2), Nothing Phone (2a), and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus to the list of supported devices, users of these phones can now enjoy the convenient search functionality.
